Walt Disney bio and death from Lung Cancer
At age 16, during World War I, he lied about his age to join the American Red Cross. He soon returned home, where he won a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute. There, he met a fellow animator, Ubi werks. The two soon set up their own company. In the early 20s, they made a series of animated shorts for the Newman theater chain, entitled "Newman's Laugh-O-Grams". Their company soon went bankrupt, however. The two then went to Hollywood in 1923. They started work on a new series, about a live-action little girl who journeys to a world of animated characters. Entitled the "Alice Comedies", they were distributed by M.J. Winkler (Margaret). Walt was backed up financially only by Winkler and his brother Roy o disney, who remained his business partner for the rest of his life. Hundreds of "Alice Comedies" were produced between 1923 and 1927, before they lost popularity. Walt then started work on a series around a new animated character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. This series was successful, but in 1928, Walt discovered that M.J. Winkler and her husband, charles mintz, had stolen the rights to the character away from him. They had also stolen all his animators, except for ub iwerks. While taking the train home, Walt started doddling on a piece of paper. The result of these doddles was a mouse named Mickey. With only Walt and Ub to animate, and Walt's wife Lillian Disney (Lilly) and Roy's wife Edna Disney to ink in the animation cells, three Mickey Mouse cartoons were quickly produced. The first two didn't sell, so Walt added synchronized sound to the last one, Steamboat Willie (1928), and it was immediately picked up. It became the first cartoon to use synchronize sound. With Walt as the voice of Mickey, it premiered to great success. Many more cartoons followed. Walt was now in the big time, but he didn't stop creating new ideas. In 1929, he created the 'Silly Symphonies', a cartoon series that didn't have a continuous character. They were another success. One of them, Flowers and Trees (1932), was the first cartoon to be produced in color and the first cartoon to win an Oscar; another, Three Little Pigs (1933), was so popular it was often billed above the feature films it accompanied. The Silly Symphonies stopped coming out in 1939, but Mickey and friends, (including Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and plenty more), were still going strong and still very popular. In 1934, Walt started work on another new idea: a cartoon that ran the length of a feature film. Everyone in Hollywood was calling it "Disney's Folly", but Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) was anything but, winning critical raves, the adoration of the public, and one big and seven little special Oscars for Walt. Now Walt listed animated features among his ever-growing list of accomplishments. While continuing to produce cartoon shorts, he also started producing more of the animated features. Pinocchio (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942) were all successes; not even a flop like Fantasia (1940) and a studio animators' strike in 1941 could stop Disney now. In the mid- 40s, he began producing "packaged features", essentially a group of shorts put together to run feature length, but by 1950 he was back with animated features that stuck to one story, with Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Peter Pan (1953). In 1950, he also started producing live-action films, with Treasure Island (1950). These began taking on greater importance throughout the 50s and 60s, but Walt continued to produce animated features, including Lady and the Tramp (1955), Sleeping Beauty (1959), and One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961). In 1955, he even opened a theme park in southern California: Disneyland. It was a place where children and their parents could take rides, just explore, and meet the familiar animated characters, all in a clean, safe environment. It was another great success.Walt also became one of the first producers of films to venture into television, with his series "Disneyland" (1954) which he began in 1954 to promote his theme park. He also produced "The Mickey Mouse Club" (1955) and "Zorro" (1957). To top it all off, Walt came out with the lavish musical fantasy Mary Poppins (1964), which mixed live-action with animation. It is considered by many to be his magnum opus. Even after that, Walt continued to forge onward, with plans to build a new theme park and an experimental prototype city in Florida. He never did finish those plans, however; in 1966, he contracted lung cancer. He died in December at age 65. But not even his death, it seemed, could stop him. Roy carried on plans to build the Florida theme park, and it premiered in 1971 under the name Walt Disney World. The home of celebrity socialite Paris hilton, located in Sherman Oaks, Calif, was burglarized on Friday, December 19, it has been reported. An estimated $2 million worth of jewelry and other goods were taken. "At around 5 A.M. Friday, officers received a call from a security guard who reported that Paris Hilton's residence had been broken into," People quoted LAPD spokeswoman Julie Sohn as informing. "According to detectives, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door, ransacked her bedroom, took unknown property and fled." Investigation is still ongoing. On Friday afternoon, Paris' publicist, Elliot Mintz, said he had no information to release. Paris Hilton wasn't at home when the burglary took place. No words on her whereabouts when the incident happened, but she was seen taking her new BFF Brittany Flickinger to dinner at Electric Karma and hitting up Christina aguillera's A Clockwork Orange-themed birthday party at Mozza. Early Friday morning, the hotel heiress was seen dancing at Bar Delux in Hollywood along with Katy perry and gossip blogger Perez Hilton. She has yet issued a word on the burglary.

"I think all of the Jonas Brothers," the British comedian answered when asked on who he wants to kiss on New Year. On wanting to kiss Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas, Russell added he wants to kiss them all "very gently and consensually." He, nevertheless, wouldn't disclose on why he wants the siblings. Russell Brand, who served as the host of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards in early September, poked fun at Jonas Brothers' "purity rings" for more than half of the show. He suggested that the boys shouldn't keep their virginity for marriage, but rather take advantage of their youth and celebrity status. He later offered an apology though. "I've gotta say sorry because I said those things about promise rings; that was bad of me. Jonas Brothers themselves had nothing, but positive response towards Russell's joke, insisting they had no beef with him. Hilary Ann Lisa Duff, an American actress and pop singer famous during the year of 2000, was born on September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas. She is born to Bob Duff and Susan Duff, who is a producer. She has one older sister named Haylie duff who is also an actress, works in music group Inventing Venus. At the age of six, Hilary and Haylie both participated in the ballet The Nutcracker Suite with Columbus Ballet Met in San Antonio. She is one of the celebs that turned her life around!A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life. Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. "I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before he announced the sentence. She was then ordered to report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars. As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?" Paris Hilton was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her license was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes. She said that when an officer who stopped her in January made her sign a document stating her license was suspended, she thought he was mistaken and did not actually look at the document. Hilton arrived at the courthouse 10 minutes after the scheduled 1:30 p.m. start time of the hearing. The heiress arrived in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. In addition to her mother, her father, Rick, also came with her. Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious. The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red-carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes. Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program are what landed the socialite back in court. On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off. Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say. Hilton was also required to enroll in an alcohol education program by Feb. 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said. Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet.

A Los Angeles Superior Court official said Tuesday that MTV was recently granted permission to shoot in a courtroom in Beverly Hills, but it was done after hours and that’s not one of their judges sitting on the bench in “The Hills” footage. MTV was granted permission to film “what purported to be a wedding outside of court hours” at the Beverly Hills courthouse, court spokesman Allan Parachini said Tuesday. He did not know who the participants were in the wedding, but Parachini said court officials wanted the filming to be treated as a news event.The preview for next week’s season finale features a wood-paneled courtroom with the California state seal perched on the wall behind a judge. Civil ceremonies are sometimes performed at the Beverly Hills courthouse, but not in the manner portrayed in the brief preview. If a judge does preside, it is typically in chambers during a break, Parachini said.

Although Soulja Boy has not been noted as having on-screen credits to his name, his YouTube account may very well justify how interested the television world will be interested in seeing him. "Terminator Salvation"
Director McG and Halycon execs Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek are already planning a fifth "Terminator” movie. The announcement was made at Dubai Intl. Film Festival. Halycon had originally planned to wait until the release of "Terminator Salvation" next summer before deciding on whether to proceed with the next chapter, but the positive studio, fan and media reaction to footage from the current pic has encouraged them to move forward ahead of schedule. Christian Bale signed on for the role of John Connor for "Salvation" and the two sequels. The fifth "Terminator" film is expected to be released in 2011. "Terminator Salvation" opens in theaters May 2009.
“The day the earth stood still”
In any aliens-out-to-conquer-Earth flick, you know obviously that the invaders want to annihilate the human race in order to pillage the planet's resources. Occasionally you get a message-filled extermination extravaganza and the aliens can speak earth language only to tell us how we don't deserve the planet. "The Day the Earth Stood Still," a remake of a decent but overrated 1951 film, has a similar alien message-spokesman with an accompanying giant impenetrable robot. This time the aliens seem to be heavily concerned environmentalists (perhaps they've viewed “An Inconvenient Truth”), and while they may have not heard the term Green Energy, they feel that earthlings are incapable of making the correct changes to save the planet from environmental ruin. The alien Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) is put under a number of probing tests by scientists, eventually getting fed up and demanding that he be taken to their leader. Defense Secretary Regina Jackson (Kathy Bates, doing her ball buster bit) is convinced that Klaatu and his associates, hiding inside their glowing sphere spaceship that changes composition like the sphere of “Solaris,” are out to do harm and nothing but. Klaatu, with the assistance of sensitive bio-scientist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly), escape military facilities and go on the run. This remake has some cool special effects shots and particular scenes are beautifully flooded with blinding white lighting reminiscent of Spielberg extraterrestrial flicks, but the movie goes "blah" with a bunch of let's run from one spot to the next scenarios that don't build upon anything dramatically cathartic. Special effects shots aside, this is stillborn drama with Connelly making whimpering pleads to Reeves about how people can change. It doesn't help that Connelly has an annoying kid (Jaden Smith) who staunchly distrusts the aliens and at one point rings the authorities to Klaatu's location. Predictably Klaatu has to convince the kid that his alien race isn't all that bad. I mean, they only want to preserve the planet even if it requires human genocide. The production uses a lot of sterile building settings in the early scenes when Klaatu is being examined and then a lot of forest exteriors once the movie hits the road. This had to have kept production costs down, or at least made budget costs room for a couple of whopper destruction scenes. The military often attacks the sphere spaceship to no avail, but the audience gets treated to CGI-candy. Eventually they get robot Gort in sealed containment in a spool of scenes that makes no sense. We never see the U.S. president, as the flick stays in the company of Defense Secretary Jackson most of the time. She gets on the phone with the Commander in Chief who lays down repeat orders to attack the sphere and terminate Klaatu once captured. The film doesn't say the name of which president is in office. Do you think it is George W. or Obama? The clueless script evades any sense of our people making peaceful relations with the aliens – it's all very cynical from the get-go. A number of scenarios with bewildered people share protracted conversations that cannot be solved because the right thing to say is almost stubbornly not said within the script. That means slow humans. If we can't represent at least some smarter people on Earth then do we deserve the planet? I look forward to a smarter alien flick in the future penned by Peter Morgan, Stephen Gaghan, Frank Darabont, or hey, Diablo Cody where the characters are respectably intelligent.

Mischa broke it off after fighting with the Rooney front man for three straight weeks while on safari. That sounds fun. Blazing heat, giant bugs, getting sticky and stinky and sleeping in a tent with someone you can’t stand. Mischa and Taylor’s romance worked because they spent so much time apart. He’d be on tour or she’d be working in Europe and they talked over the phone or e-mail. They fought almost every day on the trip and she broke up with him just a few days after they returned to L.A.
